The Planika Forma 1500 Island Fireplace is a complete bioethanol firebox insert with a fully open four-sided island configuration. It combines a non-combustible steel housing with the FLA4 1190 BEV burner, ready to drop into a media wall, chimney breast or feature wall. No flue, no chimney, no construction work, just a 230 V plug.

BEV (Bio Ethanol Ventless) is Planika’s patented automatic burner technology. Bioethanol is heated inside a sealed chamber and turned into flammable vapours, so it is the vapour that burns, never the liquid fuel itself. A microprocessor regulates combustion and a suite of safety sensors (temperature, fuel level, seismic, spillage) monitor the burn at all times.

Combustion is clean with no smoke, soot or ash, so the firebox can be installed in custom housings without any flue, chimney or vent.

What does the Forma 1500 Island Fireplace include?

The kit includes the Forma 1500 Island non-combustible housing and the FLA4 1190 BEV burner with refuelling pump, remote control and power cable. Tempered glass screens are included.

Do I need a flue or chimney?

No. The Forma 1500 Island Fireplace uses BEV ventless technology and only needs a 230 V plug socket. There is no smoke, soot or ash, so no flue, chimney or vent is required.

What size opening do I need?

The Forma 1500 housing measures 1500 mm in length. Plan the wall recess or media unit to accommodate the housing depth and clearance for service access. Detailed installation drawings are supplied in the manual.

How long does one fill of fuel last?

The FLA4 1190 delivers up to 9 hours of burn time on the lower flame setting, with proportionally less on higher settings. Refilling is automatic via the integrated pump.

Can I install in a media wall or chimney breast?

Yes. The housing is non-combustible and rated for zero-clearance installation in flammable materials such as plasterboard, timber framing or MDF media units. Standard plug-and-play 230 V supply is sufficient.

What fuel does the burner use?

Use high-grade bioethanol fuel (95–96.6% concentration). We recommend Calida Premium Bioethanol Fuel for the cleanest, most efficient burn and to keep your warranty valid.

Is professional installation required?

The Forma firebox is designed for installation by a competent installer or experienced trade. Bentley Bioethanol Fires UK can supply only or arrange supply with an assisted installation service.
