The Planika Astro 1800 is a modern electric fireplace insert with cutting-edge 3D LED flame technology. The 1800 mm long unit drops into a media wall, chimney breast or feature opening with no flue, gas line or chimney needed, just a 240 V plug socket. The realistic flame display is paired with a glowing crystal floor, downlit resin logs and a switchable 1500 W / 3000 W heater.

Key features

3D LED flame technology: Reflex Technology with prisms and LED lights for a vivid, lifelike flame.
Multizone ColorFlow: Customise the colour of three flame zones with four flame colours available.
2-stage heating: 1500 W and 3000 W modes for instant heat on demand.
Downlit resin logs: Realistic log set illuminated from above for added depth.
Glowing crystal floor: Amber crystal bed reflects flame and downlight.
Remote and wall switch: Wireless wall switch and infrared remote both supplied.
Plug-in 240 V: No flue, no chimney, no gas, ideal for new builds and retrofits.

The Astro uses 3D LED flames combined with refracting prisms (Reflex Technology) to create a deep, lifelike flame appearance. Multizone ColorFlow drives three independently controllable colour zones, with four flame colours to choose from. A downlight illuminates the resin log set from above, while the amber crystal bed glows from the rear. Heat is provided by an electric element rated at 1500 W (low) or 3000 W (high), independent of the flame display.

Because there is no combustion, no flue, gas line or fuel supply is required. The unit runs on a standard 240 V plug socket.

Does the Astro 1800 produce real heat?

Yes. The integrated heater operates in two stages, 1500 W or 3000 W, providing genuine supplementary warmth. The flame display can also run independently without the heater for ambience-only use.

Do I need a flue or chimney?

No. The Astro 1800 is fully electric. No flue, chimney, gas line or fuel is required, just a 240 V mains socket.

How realistic are the flames?

The Astro uses Planika’s Reflex Technology, combining 3D LED flames with refracting prisms to create the appearance of moving flame. Multizone ColorFlow lets you customise the colour of three flame zones, choosing from four flame colours.

Can I use the flame effect without the heater?

Yes. Flame effect and heater are independently controlled, so you can enjoy the visual flame year-round and switch the heater on only when extra warmth is needed.

Where can I install the Astro?

The Astro is designed for built-in installation in media walls, chimney breasts and feature openings. Plan the wall recess to fit the insert dimensions, with clearance to a UK 13 A socket on the supply side.

How are the flames controlled?

Both an infrared remote control and a wireless wall switch panel are supplied. They control on/off, flame colour, ColorFlow zones, downlight and the heater stages.

Is professional installation required?

The Astro is supplied as a self-install insert with a clear installation manual. For built-in installations into bespoke media walls or chimney breasts, Bentley Bioethanol Fires UK can also arrange supply with an assisted installation service.
